Chawton House (Part-2), The Home of Captain Edward Knight

An original early issue of Country Life Magazine dated February 9th 1945 featuring a main article on Chawton House in Hampshire (Part-2), The Home of Captain Edward Knight, the house was built in 1585 by John Knight and enlarged about 1655 by Sir Richard Knight. Four page write up with black and white illustrations of the house exterior and garden, Chawton village and Jane Austen's Cottage. This issue is a little worn around the edges, but the main article is complete and in good conditon, with a lovely portrait frontispiece of The Hon. Mrs. Charteris.
