Claughton Hall, The Home of Mr. Esmond Morse

Original rare war-time issue of Country Life magazine for December 14th 1940 featuring a main article on 'The House that climbed a hill - Claughton Hall in Lancashire, the home of Mr. Esmond Morse'. This issue contains a five page write up including black and white illustrations of the house exterior and interior, Claughton Hall was moved from its original site and rebuilt on its present site between 1932-1935. This magazine is in very good condition with a portrait frontispiece of Lady Hawke with her daughters.
