Tusmore Park (Part 1), The Seat of Lord Bicester

Rare original issue of Country Life magazine for July 30th 1938 featuring a main article on Tusmore Park in Oxfordshire (Part 1), The Seat of Lord Bicester. Tusmore was built in 1766-1779 by William Fermor from designs by Robert Mylne, at the time of this publication architects Imrie & Angell were making improvements to the property including a new formal garden. Tusmore was demolished in 1961 and a smaller house now stands. This issue contains a six page write up with black and white photographic illustrations of the house exterior and gardens, showing the new garden lay-out and relics of old Tusmore including the Granary and Dovecote. This magazine is in very good condition with a lovely portrait frontispiece of Miss Joan Hall.
