An original war-time issue of Country Life magazine dated August 10th 1940 featuring a main article on Belle Isle (Part-2), A residence of Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Chance. A unique circular house on an island in Windermere, built in 1774 for a Mr. English from designs by John Plaw.  Five page write up containing black and white illustrations of Belle Isle Lodge, the interior and furnishings. This issue is in good condition with a portrait frontispiece of Prince Edward and Princess Alexandra of Kent.
