John Pouncy (1818-1894). A pioneer in the development of photography. The photo-lithograph is from an extremely rare collection of views illustrating Dorset that were published by The Dorchester Photographic Institution in 1857. This was the first publication to feature this process created by Pouncy. An important collection featuring early photography.
