Marden Hill, The Home of Major Cecil Banbury

Complete issue of Country Life magazine dated August 22nd 1941 featuring a main article on Marden Hill in Hertfordshire, the home of Major Cecil Banbury. This issue has a four page write up on the history of Marden Hill (a late Georgian house with alterations designed by Sir John Soane in 1819), includes black and white photographic illustrations of the house exterior, interior, furnishings and Soane's plan for alterations to the ground floor in 1818. The magazine is complete with adverts, in good condition with a portrait frontispiece of Her Royal Highness Princess Margaret Rose. Rare war-time issue.
