Allington Castle, The Seat of Sir Martin Conway. Spring Number
A rare complete issue of Country Life magazine with full covers and adverts being 'The Spring Number' dated March 31st 1928 with a main feature on Allington Castle in Kent written by Sir Martin Conway (the residence of Sir Martin at the time of the publication. Contains a seven page article including black and white photograph illustrations of the castle exterior, gate house, gardens and moat. Also contains an article titled 'The Lesser Country Houses of To-day' Harrowhill Copse at Newlands Corner in Surrey, a house designed by the architect Mr Clough Williams-Ellis. A three page illustrated article by R. Randal Phillips, with images of the exterior of the house, interior, furnishings, fittings, decor and ground and first floor plans. This magazine is in good condition (some slight fraying to corners) the front cover artist is Carl Gathor and the portrait frontispiece is of The Hon. Mrs Beaumont-Nesbitt.
