An original very early issue of Country Life magazine dated December 20th 1924 featuring a main article on Encombe House (Part 1) in Kent. Designed in a modern Italianate style by the architect and designer Basil Ionides in 1922. Eight page write up with black and white illustrations of the property, exterior and gardens. A rare record of a unique house with a blend of Art Deco and Italian Renaisance, sadly destroyed by fire in 1978.  This issue is in very good condition with a lovely portrait frontispiece of Lady Patricia Blackwood.
