Orchards, The Residence of Sir William Chance, Bart

An original very early issue of Country Life magazine dated April 11th 1908 featuring a main article on Orchards in Surrey, the residence of Sir William Chance, Bart, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in the Arts and Crafts Style. A nine page write up with many black and white illustrations of the house and gardens (designed by Gertrude Jekyll) including the Dutch Garden, Croquet Lawn, The South Terrace, Shrub Garden and Kitchen gardens. This issue is in very good condition with a lovely portrait frontispiece of Lady Grizel Hamilton. Rare.
