An original very early issue of Country Life magazine dated August 16th 1919 featuring a main article on Eltham Lodge (Part 2) in the county of Kent at the time of publication, now falling under the Borough of London in the Great Park at Eltham Palace. Contains an eight page write up with black and white illustrations of the building and interior designed between 1663 and 1665 by the architect Hugh May for Sir John Shaw.  This issue published the year before the building became the official residence of The Royal Blackheath Golf Club. The magazine is in very good condition with a lovely portrait frontispiece of Mrs Beckwith Smith. Rare.
